A C2P Story: First Med Inc

FMI was founded in 2006 by Dr Roy Eskapa, an American doctor who is board certified in psychiatry and addiction medicine. His background includes work for Johnson & Johnson Laboratories, the National Institute on Drug Abuse, Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons, his own Charleston Research Institute, Purdue Pharma L.P., Cephalon Inc., Teva Neuroscience Pharmaceuticals.

First Med Inc first started off based in Charleston, South Carolina and then moved its location to Tennessee later that year. The company changed name from “Charleston Pharmaceuticals” to First Med Inc on June 26th, 2007. With such a long history in the medical industry, and many successes in their brick-and-mortar operations, it was not surprising that the company decided to move to more of an online focus in the mid-2010s.

Trying to keep up-to-date with new technologies in the ever evolving pharmaceutical industry, is no easy feat. First Med Inc have stayed up with current trends however, and in the pandemic years of late, have begun new businesses exporting the highly in demand medicine – Ivermectin – around the globe. Online pharmaceutical sales bring with it a new set of challenges, including taking payment online from customers in various jurisdictions via a number of various payment methods.

This is where Coin2Play come in. Despite not being in the gambling or gaming niche, like the core of Coin2Play’s clients, all e-commerce stores can benefit from using our blockchain-based payment platform to minimize fees associated with taking online payments, and to speed up processing. Not to mention that by using Coin2Play systems payment can be taking via a number of methods, including payment in many of the most popular cryptocurrency coin types.

Spokesperson for First Med Inc, Erica Leung said, “While we’re still currently integrating the new payment system into our websites and online stores, we’re excited about the potential for growth that Coin2Play payments offer us. We currently see a great deal of potential with cryptocurrency payments, and it’s an exciting time to be a part of this. We hope to become one of the first online pharmacies to accept cryptocurrency for online sales, giving us access to an entirely new market.”

Erica Leung is available for interview on request from news outlets and other media, and is happy to talk about the future of First Med Inc working in partnership with the team at Coin2Play.
